Personal Information
We at the Connection Channel respect your desire
for privacy when you visit the Connection Channel
web site. We recognize your need for appropriate
protection and management of personally identifiable
information you share with us, such as name, address,
telephone number and email address. We hope that
the following provides you with the information
you need to be reassured about our use of your
information. By using our site, you consent to
the collection and use of this information by
Connection Channel.
The information gathered from the forms you fill
out is used only in one of three ways:
- to provide you with information about products,
services, news and events;
- to allow you to purchase products; and
- to gather broad demographic information about
user trends.
The Connection Channel will not collect or retain
any personal information such as your name, unless
you choose to provide it. If you provide this
information, the Connection Channel may retain
and use it to better address your needs. We want
to understand your product preferences and determine
how Connection Channel products and our web site
can be improved.
There are times when we may collect personal
information from you during promotions and special
events. It is our intent to inform you before
we do that and to tell you what we intend to do
with the information. You will have the option
not to provide the information. The Connection
Channel will from time to time administer surveys
from the site in which we ask you for demographic
information and opinions; these surveys are optional
and allow for you to "opt out" of future
mailings. We do not ask you for contact information
in regards to survey data. We use the data to
better understand the needs of all of our customers.
Disclosing Information
We do not sell, rent or trade your name or personal
details to other organizations unless you give
us your permission to do so. We make every effort
to keep your information accurate and up to date.
If, at any point, you think we may have inaccurate
information about you, you can log on to our web
site, go to your account information and make
any changes to your information.
Technical Information
The Connection Channel web site automatically
collects certain technical information when you
visit the Site or download information therefrom.
For example, our Web server automatically gathers
the information passed along by a web browser
that references the Web URL from which you linked.
This information is used by the Connection Channel
to identify broad demographic trends that may
be used to provide information tailored to your
interests, but does not include specific personal
information.
IP Addresses and Browser
Type
Our web site logs your computer's IP address
and browser type, but we do not link this data
to anything that can personally identify you.
This means that a user's session will be tracked,
but the user remains anonymous. We log this information
so that we can monitor customer traffic patterns
and site usage. This helps us constantly improve
the design and layout of the Connection Channel
web site.
Cookies - When and How
We Use Them
When you view our web site, some information
in the form of a "cookie" may be automatically
stored with your browser on your computer. This
allows us to customize our web site to the specific
interests of our visitors. Cookies will also keep
track of your shopping cart, which will deliver
content specific to your preferences. The Connection
Channel cookies do not contain any personally
identifiable information nor will our programs
extract any information from your computer.
Most Internet web browsers are set to automatically
accept cookies. However, if you do not want cookies
sent to or stored on your system, your Browser
will allow you to change your systems response
to cookies, i.e. delete them from your hard drive,
stop them from being stored or even warn you before
a cookie is stored. You should refer to your browser
for instructions
Security
We, at the Connection Channel, guarantee we will
take all measures to try to protect the information
you share with us from unauthorized access or
disclosure. Our web site secure server software
(SSL) is the industry standard and among the best
software available today for secure commerce transactions.
It encrypts all of your personal information including
credit card number, name, address, so that it
cannot be read as the information travels over
the Internet. It is then decoded when it gets
to us. SSL encryption is active in all areas where
customer information is requested. You can check
to see that you have entered an SSL-active area
by looking in the lower left-hand corner of your
screen. If you see an unbroken key or a closed
lock (depending on your browser), you will know
that SSL technology is in place and ready to encrypt
your information.
You can also check by looking at the URL line
of your browser. When you are in an SSL-active
area, the first letters of our web site address
will change from "http:" to "https:"
(the 's' stands for 'secure').
We also use strong security measures to protect
the loss, misuse and alteration of your information
under our control.
Choice/Opt Out
The Connection Channel web site provides users
the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications
from us and our partners, at the point where we
request information about you, the visitor. Also,
we send all new customers a thank-you e-mail.
Established customers will occasionally receive
information on products, services, special deals,
and a newsletter. Out of respect for the privacy
of our users we present the option to not receive
these types of communications.
This site gives visitors and customers the following
options for removing their information from our
database to not receive future communications
or to no longer receive our service.
- At the time you register with the Connection
Channel, enter a contest, or purchase a product,
as examples, you are given the choice of participating
in periodic mailings, and may choose not to.
- If you are already on our e-mail list and
no longer want to be contacted by the Connection
Channel, or its business partners, please click
on this link.
- You can also send an e-mail to remove@connectionchannel.com,
and just put in the header remove, and we will
handle it.
Changes to Policy
The Connection Channel privacy policy is subject
to change. If we decide to change the way we collect,
use or share information, we will take commercially
reasonable steps to notify members by way of an
e-mail that explains the changes and gives visitors
and customers the choice as to whether or not
we may use their information in the new manner.
Should you have other questions or concerns about
these privacy, security, terms and conditions
or opt-out policies, please contact us by e-mail
at customerservice@connectionchannel.com.
